Working together

This morning Weka Hub worked together on puzzles. Each person got a puzzle piece but didn't show it to the rest of their group. They had to describe and explain what was on their puzzle piece while everyone else listened. It was a really fun way of working together and practising our listening skills.

Whole school assembly

Every day Weka hub meets as a team for a morning meeting. We have been singing a song in this time about how we are a family. Last Friday, we performed this song in the whole school assembly!

We have lots of amazing singers in Weka hub!

Cross Country

Congratulations to Weka Hub who all participated in the Trentham School Cross Country!

20 of our fabulously fast students made it into the top ten boys and top ten girls for the Year 2s.
Funny how that worked out 😏

Check out these photos and recounts our students wrote of the day.

Yesterday the school did Cross Country. First we did a parade. All the Whanau Groups had to meet at the hoops. The groups were Mahoe Blue, Kowhai Yellow, Kauri Green and Rata Red. We had to do a chant. Mahoe won last year, so we went first. Then Kowhai, Rata and Kauri. After lunch we did Cross Country and all the teachers, families and Principal came on the field with the children. I had to run around the field two times because I am a Year 2. I came in the finals because I came 6th.

Cross Country was after lunch. It was on the field. I was there. There was also a Parade. At the Parade I did a chant. There was a lot of clapping. I clapped for my Whanau Group. I am Kowhai. At the running part, I ran really fast. I was 7th. When I was finished, I went back to class just before home.

We did Cross Country on the Junior Field at school. I came third in the race. My Dad was there to cheer me on. I liked Cross Country.
